It's hard to want to put up pictures of our new house when we still have cardboard boxes lying around, our clothes in suitcases instead of dressers and major pieces of furniture lacking. Yet in an attempt to share our new home, our most recent blessing with everyone, I took these pics to share our thankfulness of what the Lord has entrusted to us.
It's amazing what you can accomplish when: you don't have a tv to suck away your time, you don't have a functioning dryer to do laundry, and you have a husband who takes 3 hour practice exams every night. I baked 5, I repeat FIVE loaves of pumpkin cream cheese bread last night, hand washed our dirty dishes (let's face it, why not?) and attempted to place pictures/frames etc ... near the rooms where I think we want them hung. I also had some fun getting into the Christmas decorating spirit and played with a few things.
- THE FRONT DOOR -
- THE FRONT DOOR - One of my most favorite pieces of architecture about our house. It's sturdy, strong and thick - through and through. It's going to be so much fun to play with different wreaths for each season!
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
Psalm 100:4
Another fun find in our house. We had a fireplace in our last home, but no mantle. I had to get creative with hanging our stockings the last few years, but this year I won't have to! I'm definitely on the hunt for the perfect stockings, stocking holders and decor for the mantle. It will be exciting when one day we build a fire to enjoy. It will make this room even more warm, welcome and inviting than it already is.
The LORD said,
Go out and stand on the mountain
in the presence of the LORD,
for the LORD is about to pass by...
After the earthquake came a fire,
but the LORD was not in the fire.
And after the fire
came a gentle whisper.
I Kings 19:11-12
This was actually the first room to be completed and therefore where we tend to spend much of our time. It's simple which works well for us. Already Grayson has ladi claim for his studying space, it's where we eat dinner together each night and where we think we will set up our Christmas tree. Already, I can tell that a lot of meaningful conversations will take place in this room. Hopefully conversations full of laughter, tears, stories of victory or defeat and hopefully lots and lots of prayers shared together. We can't wait to see who the Lord will bring to us to love on through meals & time well spent together!
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds;
tie them as symbols on your hands
and bind them on your foreheads.
Teach them to your children,
talking about them when you sit at home
and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.
Write them on the doorframes of your houses
and on your gates,
so that your days and the days of your children
may be many in the land
that the LORD swore to give your forefathers,
as many as the days that the heavens are above the earth.
Deuteronmy 11:18-21
We pray that during this time of Thanksgiving that you truly remember and speak out all that the Lord has done for you. We truly believe that all good things come from God and for that, He deserves all the glory! Be blessed during this season friends!!!

What a perfect house! It looks like you have quite the start to making it "home". I sure hope we have a chance to visit you there sometime soon.
