4th of July

I'm not much of a hostess, but in case anyone is interested in doing an easy and inexpensive centerpiece for the 4th of July, try this!

Supplies:
- Small terracotta pots from Walmart (69 cents)
- Little, pretty, bright flowers (these were 6 for $1.50)
- Paint and sponges (the small bottles in the arts & crafts section)

- Paint the bottom of the pot white
- Paint the top rim of the pot blue
- Paint red stripes on the bottom pot
- Paint or sponge white stars on the top rim
- After the paint dries, put some potting soil in the pot and plant the flower.

I really think something like this would look great on picnic tables for a 4th of July bar-b-cue. Have fun!

i was totally inspired... not so much to the artsy-crafty part, but i definitely purchased red tins from the dollar spot at target and planted little white flowers, and poked american flags into the pots as well. i am feeling very patriotic, and feel very protective of my little flowers! i so hope not to kill them like i do most plants... maybe i will venture into avocado growing next... does that plant really sprout edible things?!
