New Floors

I can't remember if I posted about this or not, so here I am writing about my new floors.

This is what my office looked like for the past 4 years. What you can't see is the large hole in the carpet that students and I would trip over regularly. Due to the safety issue this caused I needed to replace the carpet.


Once I took up the rectangle of carpet though, what I found was like a gift ... original hardwood floors!!! After getting some quotes, I realized that it would be feasible to have these beauties sanded and refinished for barely more than the cost of carpet.


We did risk finding a hole or bad wood, but it was worth it and it paid off tremendously! Lincoln Flooring came and in four days had my floors looking as good as they did 40 years ago.


They let me pick the stain and everything! I finally got to rearrange my furniture to allow for people to see me from the entrance. This office is seriously so much different with only floors and furniture being changed. I've already received so many compliments and may have inspired some other offices to do the same!


Can't beat a corner office with windows and a wood floor, can you?
