Sweet Brinley Bea

March 7, 2010 - November 26, 2010

While in San Antonio for Thanksgiving, Brinley Bea passed away. We're not exactly sure what happened to send her back into renal failure, but throughout the day on Thursday she began to show symptoms that her kidneys were giving her problems. She got worse pretty quickly, but not enough for us to be alarmed. Thursday evening though, she woke us up with labored breathing and extreme lethargy. We knew immediately what was happening because the vet from her accident this summer had prepared us for these symptoms. Upon talking to the veterinarian last night we realized she was in critical condition and even if she were to improve, she would require doggy dialysis for the rest of her life. Grayson and I had talked previously about this and had decided that for her, being so young and little, that it would be better to let her go.

She was such a sweet puppy, even for the few short months we had with her. We are thankful for so many things about her and the way the Lord allowed this to work. We got a few months of extra time with her after her accident this summer. We are thankful that there was a wonderful veterinary clinic in San Antonio to help us with this and we are thankful that my family got to see her another time. She was a sweet dog and we will miss her very much!
