As in, "Buzz's girlfriend ... woof."
That's how I feel this morning. The reason we don't have kids is because we both really enjoy sleeping through the night (well, that's one of many reasons why we don't have kids, but there's not enough time to get into THAT). So, it's obvious we both very much enjoy our sleep, me moreso than Grayson. With me trying to run/train consistently these days it has me loving my sleep that much more. It helps me to relax, stretch out my muscles and recuperate for whatever training I've got scheduled for the next day. Also, with these amazing temps we've been having the only realistic time for me to get up and run is starting at 5:30 in the morning. While this may not seem early for most, it is for me! All the more reason I need/want my sleep.
Well, last night was a total bust. Our air conditioner is out, AGAIN! This thing is really starting to get old. We've called the repair people 3-4 times now and it's yet to be fixed. While I'm thankful that we have a back-up unit upstairs, it's a little frustrating to have to take everything upstairs for a few nights, then back down for a few nights, only to take it back up again a few days later. So we ended up sleeping upstairs again last night and like normal we took the dogs with us. We were awakened at 3am to some whimpering, crying etc ... but didn't think anything of it. We decided to let them cry rather than take them out for fear that we might train them to start waking up at this time each night. Well around 3:45am I woke up to a horrid smell that penetrated the entire upstairs. I won't go into detail, but let's just say that Grayson ended up bleaching their crate and I ended up bathing & drying both dogs until 4:30 this morning.
At that point it was like, do I stay awake and still run, do I nap until 5:30 and then run or try to get as much rest before I have to get up for work? It was a disaster and has us both feeling like we were run over by a train this morning. All this to say, the ac people have been contacted AGAIN, I didn't run and am already on my second cup of coffee!
Here's to a great Thursday.
