Easter Weekend in San Antonio

Grayson and I were lucky enough to have a few days off from work for Easter break so we decided to jet on down to San Antonio to meet our nephew. Since I had all of Friday off and Grayson had to work I did the majority of the driving :) We made it in 8 hours flat, probably our best time yet.
I think we took this pic early in the drive, we were obviously very excited to get to SA!
This was our first time meeting sweet Easton. He was so chilled and laid back in his little car seat. He let me hold him for like an hour! We spent almost all of Saturday with him and Erin; we talked mostly about the birth process, how he's been behaving himself lately and all the other wonderful details that have happened in the short 20 days of his life.
This one is for Dave and Kristen ... I could almost hear him saying,
"Ah, it's the dang papparazzi again. No pictures please!"
He was wide awake when we met him. So cute, with the best hair too.
Since Matthew couldn't get off work on Saturday to visit with us, we decided to go see him and visit at his work. He manages one of the HEB+plus stores in San Antonio. I couldn't get over how humongous and crazy his store was on the day before Easter. We were treated like HEB VIP's (if there is such a thing); it was wonderful. I don't think this pictures capture the intensity that was "HEB" that day. They had 29 aisles for checking out and they were all at least 5-10 people deep! It was definitely a sight to see.
Here we are (in Matthew's office) taking our first family photo of 6.5
This HEB is awesome, it has this "Aguas Frescas" station where they take old semi-bruised fruit and turn it into smoothies that you can buy and drink while shopping. We definitely tasted one of each flavor while there. It was delicious!
After Saturday's events we were pretty tired so we watched a Netflix of The Amazing Race and hit the sack. Sunday was church for the four of us. We ran into a ton of people and got say hello and brag on baby Easton. Here's the four of us after church about to head home and get started on our delicious lunch.
Grayson did a great job snuggling with Easton. We were gladly the "default baby-holders" for the day since everyone else gets to see him all the time. We enjoyed every minute of it.
Here we are, Aunt Ashly and Easton getting our cuddles in.
The boys were very into The Masters after we ate our lunch. As boring as I think golf generally is, that was actually a great game/match/event?? to enjoy on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
The girls were not so much into watching golf, rather we just watched Easton stretch, make funny faces in his sleep and make the cutest babies sounds I've ever heard. It was way more entertaining that golf, in my opinion.
Sunday's events concluded with Easton's bath. They bathed him a day early so we could watch their evening routine. We were off to a great start when Matthew started yelling in the bathroom. Turns out Easton peed on his face, yes, that's what that liquid is on his face in this photo. Being the good aunt that I am, I opted to get the camera for a quick photo-op instead of a towel to wipe him off. I was laughing so hard I could hardly take the picture. With that minor event down, we proceeded to the bathing portion of the evening.
He loved his jacuzzi time.
Please note the almost mullet on this kid. He was born waiting for his first haircut.
This was right after Matthew combed Easton's hair. Matthew is already "training" Easton's hair to lay to the left side. It doesn't quite participate, but it's a valiant effort on Matthew's part.
Bathed, combed and ready for bed. So dashing!

We had a great time in San Antonio and very much enjoyed our visit. We headed back to the boro yesterday and made a few stops along the way to make the drive more enjoyable (can you say outlet mall in San Marcos?). We can hardly wait to go back in two months for Easton's baby dedication. He was a gem (as were my parents and Erin & Matthew) and we loved every second of being in San Antonio. It was so good to visit family and see a few friends while we were there.

Okay, that last pic is too cute!! His hair - I can't believe it. LOVE the paparazzi pic!! How funny, he already has it down. It looks like you all had such a special weekend. I am so glad! I know it makes it hard to leave.

Oh and for the record, I am officially craving one of those smoothies. What a great idea!!

Happy Easter to you two!

1st: Easton is adorable and so tiny. Plus he has the coolest baby hair I've ever seen.
2nd: I think you look fabulous holding a newborn baby. You're a natural.
3rd: I am not sure if that is the HEB+ on Blanco, but its officialy my favorite store and I go there everytime I'm in SA.
