LA Tech Bowling Alley

We decided it would be worth staying up past our 9:30pm bedtime last night in order to go out for some bowling. "The Journey", our new Sunday school class, planned a fun activity at the Tech Recreation Center. Not many people know that Tech has a nationally ranked bowling team, but they do. Because of this Tech invested in building this amazing bowling alley on campus. It is the nicest bowling alley I have ever been to before!

I am proud to say that I got over 100 points (barely) with only a sore thumb and tight right shoulder as a result. Really, we had more fun hanging out with and getting to know friends in our class than the actual bowling. Here is a pic of Grayson working his "magic". He actually got to bowl a lot since some people were more interested in talking than bowling. He did a good job, but for the purposes of this post I'll just say "I can't remember what his actual score was."
Please notice the amazing backround. I was very impressed with the professionalism and coolness of this area. Also, the music they played made you want to dance and almost made you feel like you were in "Grease 2" and that at any moment everyone around you was going to bust out with the same dance moves. No one did, but it felt like they could.

And here is Val working it. I'm pretty sure the new slogan for her and Sam is "Just bowl ... it's what we do." They're considering having a t-shirt made because they did such a great job whipping up on everybody. We're all fairly sure they are closet bowlers and just pretend to be bad, but in reality they are awesome.
We are loving this new Sunday school class and are having so much fun getting to know everyone in it. I think it helps that we don't have plans to go out of town for 8 weeks in a row which means we can actually attend church regularly. Summary of this post: for those of you in the Ruston area, go to bowl at Tech ... it's super fun.
