It has begun.

I believe it is fair to say that the Baby Boom of 2009 has officially begun. I'm slightly late in making this post, but what's new? A few weekends ago Grayson and I were able to head back to Fort Worth to make an all important visit. First, we made sure to spend some great quality time with our dear friend's, the Buchanan's, before they head up to freezing Pittsburgh, PA for the next 2-3 years. We had a great time enjoying their company and their home during our stay. We also visited with Winston & Madalyn while enjoying a little of the TCU night life (thanks guys, it was super fun). Last, and certainly not least, we got to meet little Olivia Anne Thompson. Proud parents are Whitney and Zac Thompson. Livy Anne was born on the 15th of January and was cute as can be. Whitney has been one of my best friends since college and she was also my matron of honor in our wedding.

Below is a pic of Grayson holding Livy. Neither of us could get over how tiny she was.
This is one of our first friends to have a baby so it was super fun (and enlightening) to see what huge blessings and changes come with having a newborn. We can't wait to see her again.I am learning all sorts of things during this baby boom. Obvious baby knowledge, of course, but of late I have learned another perk of living in a small town: it only takes me 5 minutes to get to the local hospital in town! This turned out to be a huge bonus when our cousin Jenn went into labor this week. Because I live in a small town, I was able to swing by during lunch and see Jenn in labor, only to swing back by after work to meet the baby. I'm sure Jenn thought those couple of hours in between were much different than the way I experienced them! But anyways, Carter James Allen was born on February 10th to the proud parents Jennifer and Kyle Allen. For the rest of his life I'll be able to tell little Carter that I watched him take his first bath (and have photos to prove it!) He is equally as precious and little. We've already made sure to volunteer for babysitting duties to give his parents a fun and free date night :)This season is so exciting. We can hardly wait to meet all the other babies that are on their way.
