I love mornings like this one.
I feel like Meg Ryan in "You've Got Mail" when she talks about the things she loves about New York City. Little stuff that makes her happy: the smell of freshly sharpened pencils, school supplies and twinkle lights. Well, that's how I feel this morning, except with different things that are contributing to my happiness:
1. I was able to make it home in record time last night and get plenty done before sitting down to enjoy our new favorite show, The Bachelor.
2. We hosted our favorite musicians from The [M]useum. It's always fun for us to have people come over and use our home as a place to rest, visit and relax.
3. I work on a university campus which means I have unlimited access to specialty coffee whenever I want! And you can guarantee that I indulged myself in a mocha latte this morning due to our having too much fun and staying up way later than normal. It was a win-win b/c we got great quality time with friends and I got a coffee out of it :)
4. My new thing (since my cell phone broke and I can't talk to anyone on my way to work) is to listen to Monroe's version of NPR news. It's very enlightening and I feel more informed by the time I get to work. We don't receive the newspaper and so I feel this is my way to catch-up on global events during my commute. Not that I understand everything, but I do feel a little bit smarter just for listening to it!
5. The weather is freezing outside and I've finally learned how to layer my clothes in order to keep warm! That, and I got some wool pants and a warm jacket as an early bday gift (thanks Mom!)
6. TC is probably getting prepped for her surgery as I type this. This is GREAT news because after tomorrow we will be able to let her roam free outside again without any fear of her adding any little ones to our family. No more loud, obnoxious mating calls to her gentleman caller!!! She did look really pathetic as Grayson lugged her off in that silly cardboard box.
So ... for all these silly reasons, I'm in a great mood today! But I digressed, onto more important matters. The breakdown of last night's episode. Feel free to post your thoughts as well!
1. Are you guys as tired of the "cattiness" between Erica and Megan as we are? Come on girls! Seriously, stop giving women a bad name. We know they aren't going to go far, but we have a theory that the producers make them stay just to get their ratings higher.
2. Is it us or does Jillian have a food theme going with the hotdogs, the fajitas etc ...? We weren't sure about her last week, but it seems like they have a good connection.
3. Melissa impressed us more than she did last week. Grayson felt her response to J's question about how she will spend her summers as a teacher (her answer: with my kids) was candid; I totally disagreed feeling it was slightly forced.
4. We were glad to finally hear that it makes Jason feel awkward when Shannon spouts off very specific details about him. It makes us awkward just watching their conversations.
5. We still find ourselves trying to determine who he'll choose based on hair color. Totally cheating, but oh well. And lastly, I will confess that we have also watched True Beauty for the past two weeks in a row. I don't recommend it because it's sort of like seeing a train wreck. You know you shouldn't watch because it's too gruesome, but it's just too interesting not to, you know?
Thankfully, there are no tv shows on the docket for this evening so we'll probably come home and enjoy another relaxing evening at home. I hope you get to do the same!

We agree -- the cattiness is definitely annoying, and Jerry and I now call Shannon "Toothy". She is the hygienist, right? Her teeth bug me!! This is the first time in Bachelor history that I don't have a favorite already... the one that I've sorta liked is Stephanie, the 34 year old widow w/ a little girl. It looks like we'll get to know her more next week. LOVED your Tuesday Talk!! =)
i think perhaps our dear bachelor might have a thing for the crazies, because he seems to keep them all around! while i realize that there is some amount of network pressure that goes into his decisions... i'm sure the crazies produce good ratings... but he should be allowed to get rid of a woman like shannon, who i'm pretty sure would be imprisoned for stalking if this were a real world situation. her stalker-ish behavior has only yet been equaled by miss brazil sneaking into the limo and hiding out to wait for jason.
but anyways... i do like molly, and kari continues to grow on me. and stephanie... she's just the kind of girl you root for in life.
great television
