with T.C. (Thurston's cat) that is. We officially know she is a girl. You want to know how I can be so sure of this? Because she's probably pregnant, that's how!!! You have got to be kidding me!
Here's how the story goes.
I was driving home very late last night and upon getting in the car I looked at my cell phone to see a few missed calls from Grayson. Well, I obviously decided to call my wonderful husband back so he could chat with me on my commute home. Let me back up the train a little bit to inform all you avid readers out there about T.C. I have only seen her 1.5 times. I saw her the very first time she got into our trash and I saw half of her body scamper away one evening when I drove home. (She was probably sitting outside waiting for food b/c I was a few days late in feeding her, oops!)
Grayson continued to promise me that she would be back, that she wasn't mooching off of us and that she was a good idea. All the while, I have been telling him that we were either 1) training a rodent to come close to our house or 2) allowing all the random strays in the area to eat the yummy food. He adamantly disagreed.
So ... the other night he saw T.C. outside our house. With his "Beast Master" charm, he coerced T.C. into the Magic Carpet by baiting her with her food. Unbeknownced to me, T.C. and G rode in the Magic Carpet over to Chuck & Kathy's for dinner. Why he thought that taking the cat on a road trip was a good idea is beyond me. Regardless, that evening when we were ready to leave, guess what? T.C. was no where to be found. Big surprise ... NOT! So we decided to leave T.C. and hope that she would pop up again sometime.
This brings me back to the conversation that occurred last night. While I was busy working in Ruston, Grayson went to his parent's house for dinner and to hang out. T.C. was not only hanging around too, but when G called her, she came running! Only this time with some very evident physical symptoms that allude to her pregnant state, I'll spare you the details. In a matter of a few hours, Grayson had already set up kitty litter, food and a soft flannel blanket for T.C. in our garage. This is no joke people!
Don't let me forget to mention that in our busy-ness lately that the cat food got left outside accidentally and upon Grayson's arrival home last night he happened upon 1) a possum and 2) a nasty stray cat eating the food out of the bag in our driveway. Sick and sicker!
So as of today, we have a pregnant cat in our basement. How did we get to this place, I'm not really sure. We don't have mice or rodents in our garage and so the whole purpose of keeping this cat around is now a moot point. So technically, I guess you could say we now are housing this animal and potentially 3-5 other little ones. I refuse to become the cat lady and if Grayson isn't careful I might be trotting myself over to Canton, Tx to purchase T.C. a cute little maltipoo for company.
Oh and don't worry, pics of T.C. in her humble abode to follow!
