A common blogging theme for me these days is to update in pictures. I hope that now that September has come and gone, so will my nights of working 2-4 hours extra, which will allow me more time to blog :)
Here is a quick recap as to what kept me super busy at the start of this month ... Panhellenc Recruitment!
I had the pleasure of advising, directing, and leading these women during Work Week and Recruitment Week. I got to work with 25 young women who disaffilated from their chapters in order to serve as Gamma Chi's (recruitment counselors) or as Panhellenic representatives. We got to know each other very well as part of the many hours we spent together. One of the things we did was attend the low ropes course offered at Tech. It was so fun and reminded me of my Frog Camp days at TCU. It was a great bonding activity that helped kick off the week.
I also had the task of organizing and monitoring recruitment for 200 potential new members and approximatley 290 in-house sorority women. Talk about a little stress!!! This was the first day with the PNM's lined up and ready to experience their first exposure to sorority life. Everything actually went extremely well!
We had 167 women accept bids to our four sororities and had record numbers for those who signed-up and went through recruitment. I know I don't love the late nights and early mornings during those two weeks, but seeing all of those girls find homes that suit them and which will hopefully make their transition to college life easier, made it all worth it in the end.
