Just be warned, if you do this assessment with your significant other, be prepared for silly jokes to be made at your love language's expense.
Scenario: It's a Sunday afternoon at the Allen household where Ashley is doing the laundry in the living room to serve Grayson while he sits on the couch watching tv.
Grayson: "Wow, Ashley. You are a really good folder .... I don't think I've mentioned today that you are doing a great job on the laundry ... Have I ever told you that you do such a good job sorting the colors?" etc ...
You get the picture, not exactly my definition of "words of affirmation", but hey, at least he's getting himself thinking in the right direction and I wasn't resentful of the jokes! I actually did sort of treasure them!

This scenario happens way to often in the Perkins household. Me on the floor (which I have to vacuum 1st) folding laundry while Brian is watching hunting shows. At least they appreciate us and I would rather be doing it than Brian.
