I know I've done a horrible job of posting pics from our cruise, and I still intend to do so, but this was a funny thing I thought I would share. Knowing we would be gone for a while, we took numerous books with us to read during our vacation. I literally chose our books based on their covers as I didn't have much time to research authors, storylines etc while I was at the library. So, I did what I thought was logical and checked out the Sophie Kinsella "shopaholic" series. The outside cover looked cute, happy and best of all, it was a series.
Three books in one, golden! To say I got obsessed with the books is an understatement. They were so funny, easy to read and quite interesting. I couldn't help but laugh throughout because so much of the book is based on the main character rationalizing how she spends money. I just knew that Grayson would get so frustrated if he were to ever read the book. The character makes so many poor financial choices and gets herself into numerous binds due to shopping, and yet always ends up scraping by. I really wanted to finish the books before the end of our cruise so as we headed out to Magen's Bay in St. Thomas, I took the book with me. I read it while tanning ...
Grayson took these pics and I kind of look like a "book-nest monster". I'm sure I looked like a dork, but to me it was very practical to take the book into the water with me. I could still work on my tan, remain cool in the water and continue with this great series.
Upon our return I knew I wanted to rent the movie. I had always wanted to see it when it came out, but we just never got around to watching it. So, one night I headed over to the Red Box and rented it. It didn't take much convincing to get Grayson to watch it because as I read the book during the cruise he saw how engrossed I became and had me give him little summaries of what I was reading. He had a general idea of what to expect and was just as anxious to see the movie as I was.
