Level One Done!

We found out yesterday that Grayson passed Level 1 of his CFA examination!!! They put up the scores yesterday morning and by noon I had this cookie cake ordered to celebrate all of his hard work. This means that we are looking at 18 weeks until he sits for Level 2. While this may seem like a long time, in the CFA world, it really isn't. Grayson is feeling okay about the time frame since he spent the same amount of time studying for the previous exam.

Looking ahead at the next 4.5 months, we know how much time and energy he will need to devote to studying, thus we instituted a mandatory Wednesday night date-night that we will honor religiously. I am actually looking forward to this new Allen Family Tradition. We decided to take turns planning the date with the goal being: spend quality time together, relax and re-connect for the next week. We hope that with this plan set in place that we will be able to make it through this difficult time of intense studying and end up even closer on the other side!

Our first date was last night and it was super fun. I made dinner (huge feat), we ate some good cookie cake and then we set some marriage goals and boundaries to help us for the next little bit. We are hoping that with some stops put in place, with the Lord's help, we will be able to protect our marriage by having fun during a time that might otherwise be difficult to connect. Obviously it was my night to plan the date so I decided to take the "marriage counselor" role, hopefully Grayson's night next week will be less business and more fun :) Who knows, maybe we'll do some really creative things that I can pass along!
