It's not even Thanksgiving yet and some of our Christmas decorations are already up and in place ... and it feels great! Forget that Thanksgiving is still a week away, I said to heck with it and went for it anyways! And you know what? It's been so nice in the evenings to come home, plug in our tree and enjoy the beautiful twinkle lights. It's just that little simple pleasure that helps me in the midst of this exciting and fast paced season.
Right now, we are looking ahead and anticipating some fun adventures over the next few weeks. Junior Auxilliary has their main fundraiser this weekend ... Jambalaya anyone? I still have some tickets for sale. I get to bake two desserts for this weekend, which I'm super thrilled about. I love to bake and try new desserts so this should be an exciting test for Thanksgiving.
Then, this weekend we will visit great friends in Fort Worth for a baby shower and to watch the Texas Tech/OU game! We haven't been to Fort Worth since August, so this will be a wonderful trip for us. We are very much looking forward to catching up with friends and enjoying the Trinity Trail, Panera Bread, Chipotle and making lots of wonderful memories.
Upon our return we have exactly 3 days to pack for both Thanksgiving and our 2 week cruise! Talk about quick turn-around. Last night we sat down at the computer and we nailed down our "off-shore excursions" which has made the cruise seem more real. We plan to swim with the stingrays (against Grayson's better judgement)! I've heard such wonderful things about this adventure, even though I'm sure when the day comes I might be grossed out at the idea of feeding squid to stingrays! We then plan to ride down some locks at the Panama Canal, which I learned last night is one of the 7 wonders of the Modern World! Who knew? (Grayson, apparently!) We have another snorkeling, kayaking and bicycle adventure awaiting us in Cozumel as well. We are very excited about the trip and looking forward to a nice, warm, relaxing time on the Caribbean.
And don't let me forget about Thanksgiving. We get to spend a good 3 days in San Antonio enjoying family and friends. I will finally get to see my sister-in-law's baby bump and hear all about her experience in pregnancy! I also hope to catch up with high school friends as well as spend as much time as possible with my family. We plan to relax and enjoy the time in San Antonio, seeing all that has changed and see what's stayed the same too. I'm sure we'll try new recipes, get some good shopping in and hopefully squeeze in a mani/pedi or massage!!!
So you can see how it would be difficult to stay calm when we have so much fun stuff awaiting us in the next few days. I hope everyone is handling the start of the holiday season and looking ahead to many fun parties and events in the coming weeks. Quarter break for Tech is almost over and school will be up and running again soon, so I'm sucking every last bit of calm here at work while I can. Anyways, I hope to post pics from this weekend promptly next week so until then, have a Wonderful Wednesday!
Happy Thanksgiving and a very early Merry Christmas!

All of your decorations look great! I don't blame you for getting them done now; sounds like you have a crazy (but way fun) scheduled planned for the next few weeks.
The decorations look GREAT! Who said you aren't a decorator?! I wish we could see you this weekend in FW. Enjoy all the Cowtown sights for me! :)
It looks fabulous! We are doing ours this weekend. You have to be able to enjoy it for awhile since it takes so much time to put it all up! And yes, Calvin is rolling everywhere. He has been for a couple of months. He's sure to start crawling soon (which I'm actually dreading). He's beginning to scoot to get stuff he wants. Love you!
Please come decorate at my house, Ashley! Your tree and doorway look beautiful! And, on another note, we swam with the stingrays in Grand Cayman last year while we were cruising. Definitely a fun shore excursion!! Take your camera and video camera! Have a blast!! =)
Our tree is smack dab in the middle of our living room in a box. Along with multiple bags of ornaments and gold bows. I am jealous yours is up and looking beautiful.
Hey you cute thing! Thanks for stopping by--so loved hearing from you. I had been wondering where you were. Thank you for your sweet words.
I hope you have fun on all your little (and big) trips coming up. Sounds wonderful.
Take care!
The decorations looks great!
