Okay, well probably not a 5th grader, maybe like a high school senior.
Here's my question ... and no cheating and using google to get the answer!
WHY IS IT CALLED A "BULL" or "BEAR" MARKET?
I will admit that I didn't know the answer to this question 2 weeks ago. My lovely husband comes home each night energized by the movement in the market and randomly quizzes me on financial jargon. I failed this quiz miserably and thought that I would gain satisfaction in hearing some of your guesses. I won't be offended or surprised if I'm like the last person right now who didn't know why it was called that. I don't even remember what I thought the reason was, but I quickly learned that I was extremly off-base!
So tell me, why do you think it is called that?
